Year 6 visit the Amex Stadium
When I walked in I was amazed at how deep they had dug down into the ground to make sure that the stadium wasn’t an eyesore. We first went up a flight of stairs to the place where we were going to have our introduction to the stadium.
The first activity was a warm up to get our brains thinking. The activity was that there was facts all around the room and in our groups we had twenty questions between us and we had to answer all of them using the facts, it was a great way to get us thinking. After the man had called the answers out he said that now we were going on a stadium tour and this was the part I was looking forward to.
We had to take the tablets, which they had provided us with, to take photos of the stadium to put into our presentation at the end of the day.
The first place we went to was the dining room where the ceiling was decorated as a wavy sort of motion which symbolised the Brighton downs. Next we went to the place where all the celebrities would eat, after they’ve eaten their food they would go through a secret door to get to the pitch where they could watch the game. After that we went on a long trip to the top of the stadium. All of a sudden my legs felt like jelly as I looked at the pitch below. As I was gladly walking down our tour guide told us some facts about the transport from Brighton.
He told us that when they first bought the stadium the train station was miniature and that nobody would use it to get to the stadium. Then they put some money towards it and now it’s quite a big station and it also prevents pollution because people don’t have to drive cars to the stadium. Next we went to the club’s own museum and that taught us about their old stadiums and how their last one was actually a race track! There were no seats there so you had to stand up instead of sitting!
Last of all we went to the changing rooms and it was astonishing at how different the away changing room was to the home one. Our tour guide said it was to psyche the other teams out and say that they were intimidated by Brighton Hove Albion.
Once we had got back to the starting room we all had lunch and got back to work on some more activities. The first activity that we did was that they gave each group a laminated sheet which had the three stadiums that Brighton have had and we had to write about the things that were different about each one. Secondly we had to do the same thing but do it about the seating comparison.
The last thing that we did was the presentation on the iPad. We had to make a presentation about what we had learnt during the day and use the photos that we had taken that day.
This was an incredible day and I hope I will never forget it.

Year 6 pupils at Rose Hill School have been learning about migration in geography, history and religious studies, which culminated in all pupils completing a philanthropy project. Due to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, pupils decided to embark on a large scale fund raising programme, working hard to raise money for the local charity, RefugEase which is working with refugees in Ukraine.

Rose Hill celebrated its first ever Founder’s Day on Saturday 21 May, a new event launched in the lead up to the School’s 200th birthday in 2032. The now annual Founder’s Day is a community celebration for past, present and future pupils.

Very early on Saturday, 14 pupils from Years 6, 7 and 8 travelled to Bede’s Senior School to take part in a challenge of galactic proportions.
