Year 4 trip to Gatton Park

On Friday, Year 4 set off to Gatton park but just as we departed enthusiastically from school… the rain started! However, that did not dampen the pupils excitement for a fun filled and busy day learning about energy and climate change. At Gatton Park, the teacher in charge set about informing the children of their tasks. They found the first activity of making a light bulb powered using the fuel of a lemon very exciting. The second activity was a great team building scavenger hunt where even the staff had to run around the beautiful grounds collecting various resources enabling the children to learn about various forms of renewable energy. In the afternoon, the activities included a range of tasks looking at the consequences of wasting resources and the implications of climate change.
Thank you to Gatton Park who provided a great day and to all in Year 4 and a special thanks to all the staff that accompanied the trip.
