Green Goblins race again!
On Sunday RHS Motorsport roared into action with the Formula 24 car for the final race of the year held at the iconic Top Gear test track. After extensive repair and some serious fettling over the Summer holidays the car was back to full form after it’s crash at Ford Dunton and it never missed a beat the whole day. For three of the drivers it was their first experience of racing the F24 and driving it on a track. Our most experienced driver, in the shape of Dylan, organised the team and ensured the pit stops were seamless, getting down to a 20s stop.
In race 1 the car covered 21.8 miles in an interrupted race due to a red flag incident. We came 33/52 and was 16/29 in the kit car category. After some minor changes during the lunch break the car lined up for race 2. The team were excellent and despite another restart we improved upon race 1. We covered 26.5 miles in 90 minutes coming 28/52 and 13/29 in the kit cars. The drivers all learned much from the experience and have many ideas to bring to the club including adding gears. If anyone has an old set of bike gears they are willing to donate it would be much appreciated.
