Arthur Scoops Gold In National Championship
Arthur won gold for long jump in the IAPS National Athletics championship in Birmingham yesterday.
Securing a PB of 4.62m and setting a new school record, Arthur competed against children from across the country to be placed first.
Speaking about his success, Headmaster David Westcombe, says: “Arthur is a great all round sportsman and a fantastic athlete. He did incredibly well yesterday against some stiff competition. He should be very proud of his success and we look forward to seeing him go on to achieve greater sporting success in the future.”
Two other children from Rose Hill also competed in the athletics event. Charlie Turland was placed 10th after jumping 3.97m and Ella McKellar ran a PB of 13.3 seconds in the 70m hurdles.
